Howard Mcintyre, Fellowship & Pastoral Care
Pastor Howard has been in ministry most of his Christian life. He joyfully left the “hippy life” behind in 1973 when the Lord Jesus captured his heart. Shortly after, he sensed God’s call on his life to become a minister to His Church. To join him in his life’s work, the Lord introduced Pastor Howard to his future wife, Dixie in 1975. They were married eight months later. Pastor Howard and Dixie have been married for over 30 years and have three grown children; Lyndsey, Evan and Haley. Early in his ministry Pastor Howard assisted in establishing a Christian coffee house ministry in Talladega, Alabama. He served many churches in various ministries until moving to Jacksonville to attend Luther Rice Seminary, where he earned his B.A. in Biblical Studies and a Master’s degree in Ministry. Pastor Howard served two churches in Jacksonville. He was the pastor of Carpenter’s House Christian Fellowship, f/k/a Ramona Blvd Baptist Church, for almost 15 years before leading his church to merge with WestGate, as he says, “to the glory of God.” Pastor Howard’s primary gifting is to shepherd the flock. It is his heart to cause WestGate to grow warmer through intimate fellowship and caring. He has had the privilege of being intimately involved with many area pastors through prayer and fellowship over the years. He has a great heart for God’s people and God’s ministers.
